"Largest Francophone genealogical and historical research centre in Western Canada"

A large Franco-Alberta population is found in this village, which is located only 5 km (3 mi.) east of Falher.   This village is said to be named after a vice-president of the E.D. & B.C. railways.

One of the hallmarks of the community is the Donnelly Family History Centre, the largest Francophone genealogical and historical research centre in Western Canada. Every year, visitors from across Northern Alberta come to peruse its huge collection of genealogical information, classified and preserved, detailing information on the pioneers of this magnificent region.
