Agriculture Apiculture is the major industry. More than 48,000 hives in this region produce a volume of 10 million pounds (4.5 million kg) of honey a year. The Peace River region produces 40% of Canadian honey.

Honey Capital of Canada
Known as the "Honey Capital of Canada", Falher is an agricultural service centre of major importance in the North Peace region. Falher is famous for being home to the world’s largest Bee, and the Falher Alfalfa Ltd., North America’s largest alfalfa processing plant. The area is also known for its waterfowl and big game hunting. This Franco-Albertan community is named after Father Constant Falher, the first parish priest, who arrived in the area in 1912. |

Falher is situated on Highway 49, just east of the junction of Highways 2 and 43, the main thoroughfare of northwestern Alberta.
