"Meadows to Mountains"
The M.D. of Greenview is one of the largest Municipalities in Alberta, covering 8,500,000 acres, located in northwest Alberta. The M.D.'s highest point -- Grande Mountain [6,250 ft] -- is situated to the west in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The Smoky River, Simonette/Latourneu/Little Smoky Rivers and the Beland/Athabasca Rivers form the major water systems. In addition, there are approximately 90 lakes of which the Smoke, Snipe, Iosegun and Sturgeon are the largest.
