Smoky River region, entrance to the famed Peace River country, and gateway to Alberta's great northwest. It was named after the waterways that run through it, the Little Smoky and the Smoky rivers lend a natural beauty that is unsurpassed.
It's 'joi de vivre' atmosphere won't be duplicated west of Quebec. The charming vibrancy of the French Canadian culture is effervescent here, and it's what draws thousands of tourists annually.
The Smoky River Region is home to an array of charming and vibrant communities, each with something a little different to offer its visitors. Common to all is the friendly 'small town' atmosphere you'll find no matter where you travel in the Smoky River region.
